In my quest to get familiar with the Uriage range (and indulge in a little pampering for myself and the kids!!) I started to use the Uriage Xemose Emollient Creme on the whole family! I suffer with eczema myself so whilst my main aim was to see how baby Callum liked it I actually ended up stealing quite a lot of his stash..!! Put simply this is the creamiest of creams and it is just beautiful to use on your skin at this time of year if you suffer in any way from dry skin! The effects of it last all day and even massaging it in you can feel how nourishing and soothing it is! I absolutely loved it and really and truly this will be a permanent fixture in my skincare cabinet from now on! Yes I have a whole cabinet…those of you with eczema will understand!
Its not exclusively suitable for dramatic skin conditions though so anyone who has a touch of dryness, or flakiness or even just wants to reinforce their natural skins barrier during Winters harsh weather conditions should give this a go.
It’s thanks to patented Cerasterol-2F technology, that this cream is so effective at reinforcing the skins barrier and keeping your skin feeling super supple and soft . Here are the main points to note:
- Contains Uriage Thermal water
- Contains Patented Cerasterol-2F complex
Uriage Thermal Water is naturally rich in minerals and oligo-elements which soothe and rehydrate the skin.
This emollient creme is suitable for babies also and whilst my little fella has no sign of eczema yet my older two do. They were recovering from hand foot and mouth disease when we tried it ( learn more about that here –https://www.wonderbaba.ie/blog/hand-foot-and-mouth-disease-a-wonderbaba-guide/ ) so it had a hard job to do! It worked really well at minimising skin flaking and it was really kind and gentle to their skin.
Uriage also do a Hydratant Lait and a Cold Cream which are a little lighter and also lovely but for my own selfish reasons we tried the Xemose for dry skin! You would probably be best with the Hydratant Lait if you wanted something light that just glides on to your baby’s skin but to be honest the Xemose absorbed really quickly and we didn’t have to wait around before getting dressed like some other emollients.
If your child has an area of skin irritation, for example on the nappy area, on the folds of their skin, on their neck, or on their chin or cheeks then I would go with the Cu-Zn+ Anti-Irritation Spray. This is brilliant for dribble rash, nappy rash and bad patches of eczema etc. It can be used on skin which is weeping from irritation. The copper and zinc have healing properties and the smectite, which is a natural clay, will help to absorp any moisture causing irritation. Once you spray it on you don’t see it and its fragrance and paraben free! Sometimes some areas can capture moisture from dribble or sweat and can become more irritated by heavy creams – the fact that this is a light spray is really helpful as you can apply it without even needing to rub it in which can save pain and provide soothing relief to your baby. This will be a go to product for me over the next few months as my baby starts to teeth and is getting dribble rash under his neck as his sisters did! This is available to buy by clicking here!
